Penrith
Award
The Penrith
Award is awarded each year by the National Executive Institute
to a police executive they feel that has had an important impact
on law enforcement. In an effort to obtain deserving candidates,
the Executive Board created a selection committee composed of
individuals that had previously received the award.
To be nominated the candidate must be a graduate of the FBI National
Executive Institute, but continues to contribute to law enforcement.
The nominations must be made by a graduate of the NEI Richard
Ayres, chairman of the committee, then contacts the previous winners
and between them they make the final selection.
The award is given to a member of the Associates who has exhibited
excellence in law enforcement administration.
Traits such as leadership in law enforcement matters on a National
level, personal courage to face adversity, or substantial or innovative
contributions to the administration of a law enforcement agency
are among the traits that are considered.
This award is given out at the Penrith Awards Banquet in Sun Valley,
Idaho, which this year will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012. If
you wish to submit the name of a nomination please do so by March
1, 2012 and attach a brief explanation as to what accomplishments
you feel the person has had in his/her law enforcement career.
